The Prestige

You have probably either seen or heard about the movie Inception, but Christopher Nolan, the writer and director of Inception, produced a similar movie a few years prior. The Prestige is another mind mending movie but seems to be much more appealing than Inception. This is due mostly to it not being a complex situation but rather an intriguing trick for a well thought out plot.
The Prestige showcases two rival magicians who are fighting for their name in history with the greatest trick ever. This leads them both to take risks in their acts, as well as risks sabotaging the others act. The performances by the actors and actress in the movie, which include Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, and Michael Caine, is extraordinary. They bring the characters' personalities to live very well and help the audience feel the tension between the two magicians.
While the movie is mind bending just like Inception is, those people who disliked Inception for its complexity should not be discouraged. The Prestige's mind tricks are simply the sort that will make you watch it over and over again, picking up on clues that you missed. Anyone who enjoyed Inception, or other movies like it will enjoy this, as well as those who didn't.
